Best Place in the Country: Military Training in Arizona during World War II - Desert Foothills Library
Tuesday, December 12
Arizona had some of the largest pilot and gunnery training facilities in the world during World War II. There were over 60 airfields to train pilots, bombardiers, aerial gunners, and navigators. Speaker Steve Hoza will present artifacts as well as many first-person stories from the men and women who trained for war in air, right here in Arizona. One lucky attendee will be randomly selected to receive a free, signed copy of Chameleons: An Untold World War II Story by Marcus A. Nannini. Register: 480-488-2286.
