Welcome to the
Town of Cave Creek Trails Web
page.
Vision: Access to our open spaces is
fundamental to our western lifestyle and enhances our understanding of the
desert environment in which we live. Our vision is to create accessible,
non-motorized trail connections to recreational open spaces throughout the town
that do not affect the overall quality or integrity of the natural environment
for the enjoyment of our citizens and future generations.
Trails Coordinator: Bambi Muller, Associate Planner
Current Status: The Maricopa
County Regional Trail is finally becoming a reality. The first three miles of
the trail was constructed and was dedicated to the public at a Grand Opening on
April 26, 2007. This trail has been years in the making and will eventually connect
to every park in the Maricopa
County Parks
and Recreation system.
The Spur Cross Trail, Phase 1
and Phase II, which is approximately a three (3) mile non-motorized trail, is
90% completed. The trail will be lined with rock and signage
installed.
The School House Trail, Phase
III, which is approximately a two (2) mile non-motorized trail, is almost
completed. Volunteers worked once a week for eleven weeks, from March 14, 2007
to May 23, 2007 to complete lining the trail with rocks. It looks fantastic!
Now all that is left to do is to get the signs posted.
A big "Thank You" to all the volunteers who have already contributed
to the success of Phase 1 & II and of the Spur Cross Trail and now Phase
III the School House Trail.
