Maricopa County's recycling center on Carefree Highway handles most everything from cans to refrigerators. Cans, glass and plastic are accepted free. They don't need to be sorted.

Cave Creek is fortunate to enjoy big-city recycling opportunities: curbside pickup by waste collection companies and an excellent no-fee recycling facility on the town border.

These firms offer curbside pickup for comingled recyclables -- meaning you throw items in together without sorting:
  • Curbside recycling and disposal
  • Waste management

The Maricopa County Waste Disposal and Recycling Center, 3955 East Carefree Highway. in Phoenix, accepts these items from 7:00 am to 4:30 pm. Wednesday through Saturday at no charge:
  • Aluminum / Aluminum Cans
  • Cardboard
  • Comingled - Glass, Plastics 1-3, Tin
  • Electronic
  • Paper, Magazines, and Newspaper
  • Scrap Metal
  • Tires (1-5 Car Tires Only)

Batteries, oil, antifreeze and light bulbs are also accepted if separated. Additional items accepted for a fee including green waste, appliances, air conditioners and furniture.
