         INFORMATION REGARDING THE AUGUST 28, 2018 PRIMARY/SPECIAL                ELECTION AND NOVEMBER 8, 2018 GENERAL/RUN-OFF ELECTION:

Candidate Packets are available at the Office of the Town Clerk for Cave Creek residents interested in running for Mayor or one of 6 Council seats.

Deadline to file Nomination Paper, Nomination Petitions, and Financial Disclosure Forms is                                             Wednesday, May 30, 2018 by 5:00 p.m.

         PRIMARY/SPECIAL ELECTION: Tuesday, August 28, 2018
                                       SUBMITTAL OF ARGUMENTS:
All arguments for or against the propositions listed below are due to the Town Clerk of the Town of Cave Creek by 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday, May 30, 2018
. Arguments must not exceed 300 words in length. There is a $50.00 charge for each argument submitted due to the Town at the time of submittal. Any argument submitted in accordance with Arizona Revised Statues and the Town of Cave Creek Town Code will be included in the August, 2018 publicity pamphlet.

PROPOSITION 406
A MEASURE SUBMITTED BY THE TOWN OF CAVE CREEK TOWN COUNCIL TO THE PEOPLE OF CAVE CREEK

OFFICIAL TITLE: A RESOLUTION (R2018-03) OF THE MAYOR AND TOWN COUNCIL OF THE TOWN OF CAVE CREEK, MARICOPA COUNTY, ARIZONA PROPOSING APPROVAL OF THE 2018 GENERAL PLAN

DESCRIPTIVE TITLE: A general plan serves as the primary tool for guiding a community’s future growth and development. Statues require Council adoption and voter approval of a comprehensive, long-range general plan for municipality development. The Town of Cave Creek 2018 General Plan includes the required statutory elements and a few additional elements.

A “Yes” vote shall have the effect of approving the Town of Cave Creek 2018 General Plan as adopted by the Cave Creek Mayor and Council, and it shall become effective as provided by law.

A “No” vote shall have the effect keeping the current (2005) General Plan in effect until a new Growing Smarter compliant General Plan is presented and approved by the voters of the Town of Cave Creek.

Election Day Poll Hours: The polls will be open from 6:00 a.m. until 7:00 p.m. on Election Day, Tuesday, August 28, 2018.

              VOTER REGISTRATION AND EARLY VOTING

Voter Registration:
Voter Registration is conducted by the Maricopa County Elections Department, located at 111 S. Third Avenue, Phoenix, Arizona. In addition, mail-in registration forms are available at the Town of Cave Creek Town Hall, 37622 N. Cave Creek Road, Cave Creek, AZ 85331.

                                  IMPORTANT VOTING INFORMATION
A person is entitled to vote in the election who has resided within the Town limits for 29 days prior to the election, and who is qualified to register to vote as provided in Arizona Revised Statutes §16-121, as amended and whose voter registration has been received by the Maricopa County Elections Department prior to midnight of the 29th day preceding the date of the election.

Deadlines for voter registration are as follows:

Primary Election Deadline: Monday, July 30, 2018
General Election Deadline: Monday, October 8, 2018

Early Voting:
Early voting is conducted by Maricopa County Elections Department, 111 S. Third Avenue, Phoenix, Arizona. Early voting for the Primary Election will be held from August 1, 2018 through August 23, 2018. For the General Election, early voting will be held from October 10, 2018 through October 25, 2018.

To request an early ballot by mail, call the Maricopa County Elections Department at (602) 506-1511. Requests for a mail ballot must be made no later than 5:00 p.m. Friday, August 17, 2018 for the Primary Election and no later than 5:00 p.m. Friday, October 26, 2018 for the General Election.

An elector may also vote early at any of the early voting satellite locations provided by the Maricopa County Elections Department. To request information on early voting satellite locations, call Maricopa County Elections Department at (602) 506-1511 or the Cave Creek Town Clerk’s Office at (480) 488-6621.

                                  REPLACEMENT BALLOT INFORMATION

Voters whose ballots are destroyed, lost, spoiled or voters who do not receive a ballot in the mail may obtain a replacement ballot. Replacement ballots for the Town of Cave Creek Election may be obtained at the locations listed below during regular business hours and on Election Days – August 28, 2018 or November 6, 2018 from 6:00am – 7:00pm.

7:00am – 5:00pm, Monday – Thursday beginning August 1, 2018 for the August Election and beginning October 10, 2018 for the November Election.
Election Days - 6:00am - 7:00pm on August 28 and November 6, 2018 – Election Days

Maricopa County Recorder/Elections Offices:

222 E. Javelina, Mesa, AZ
8:00am – 5:00 pm Monday – Friday beginning August 1, 2018 for the August Election and beginning October 10, 2018 for the November Election.
6:00am – 7:00 pm on August 28 and November 6, 2018 – Election Days

Ballots may be returned by U.S. Mail or dropped off at Cave Creek Town Hall.

In order for your ballot to be counted, it must be received by 7:00pm on Election Days – August 28 and November 6, 2018.
