Fire Hydrant Flow Test will be conducted tomorrow morning

Town of Cave Creek

               Utilities Department

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE – FEB. 6, 2020:

Fire Hydrant Flow Test will be conducted tomorrow morning

CAVE CREEK – The Cave Creek Utility Department will be conducting a Fire Hydrant Flow Test in the area of Rockaway Hills Drive and Fleming Springs Road.

The test will take place from 7 a.m. to 8 a.m. and may cause Cave Creek utility customers to have a drop in their water pressure and/or have discolored water while the test is being conducted. The test will occur at normal peak demand times to ensure there is adequate fire hydrant flow.

If you are located in the area and you experience discolored water it is recommended that you run your faucets until the water becomes clear, which could take up to thirty minutes.  The water is safe to drink and the discoloration is caused from sediment from the fire hydrant flow testing.

The changes in water pressure may be intermittent as well while the test is happening.  This test is conducted to ensure that fire hydrants are working properly and the Town appreciates the community’s understanding.

If your water is still discolored after thoroughly running your faucets once the test is completed the Cave Creek Utilities Department can be reached at 480-488-6620.
